Mistress Of All Things Yaoi: Takahashi Conspiracy
Q: What’s your favorite anime?
A: Hrm. Wow, that is LOADED question, ne? I have a particular fondness for Yu-Gi-Oh, but not the 4kids monstrosity. I even have a tattoo of Dinosaur Ryuuzaki, naked and tied up, on my neck. However, I am also very much into Evangelion, and Death Note. There are many people trying to get me into Naruto, so I am cosplaying Itachi for the first time this year. Rather, crossplaying…
Q: What was the anime that made you into an otaku?
A: Oddly enough, one that noone ever speaks about. When I was young, I saw Koko No Wa Greenwood, and fell in love with the entire genre of animation, the art, the adorable characters, this culture that I had never seen from overseas.
Q: Screw, marry, kill – which three bishounen would you choose?
A: Screw- Laugh all you want, but if I had the chance, I would screw the hell out of that old man Jiraiya from Naruto, who isn’t my type at all. He’s too big,too muscular, and I prefer small boys that are shorter than I, and quite pale… but he is a pervert, like me, and absolutely ridiculous and completely himself. Someone who has pervert in their name… Well, I think they would do things with me and not completely freak out, and it would be quite a time… *faints* Oh, JiJi…
Marry – This was so close. I considered Shinji briefly, but good god, he is too needy. Then I considered Roba Espa, but there are long held issues surrounding him. So it would most definitely be L. Lawliet of Death Note. Someone I could speak intelligently with, who has a strong sense of self, and who has peculiar behaviors consistent with my own.
Kill – The 4Kids version of Mazaki Anzu, renamed Tea Gardner. I seriously despise what they do to female characters in anime at times, but that one is the worst. They redid her completely, and she’s an annoying ditz… of course… Sad thing is, I like Anzu. But I despise Tea.
Q: What type of otaku are you?
A: Nihongophile, mostly. I am also completely out of the closet as an otaku. I wear cosplay outfits to the store, I scream and glomp people, I instantly pose when a character’s name is called. I attend conventions, make art, make fanfiction, and am pathetically open about my interests. I speak a mixture of fangirl, actual Japanese (the two are NOT the same), and English, among other languages, and can be found with brightly colored hair, omimaris dangling from everything, cell phone in hand, outrageously decorated, and with several study aids, often swaying and singing J-Pop songs.
Q: What character could you cosplay as best?
A: I’m losing weight, so once I get back to what I was, I’m definitely going with Asuka of Evangelion. She’s loud and bouncy, and I definitely have the boobs! I also have these gorgeous shoes… I would like to cosplay a magical character sometime soon.
Q: What series do you like to write/draw the most?
A: I enjoy writing Death Note and drawing Yu-Gi-Oh. Though that changes from day to day… I have a lot of things I adore drawing and writing.
Q: What’s the scene you like most from an anime or manga?
A: I would have to say that it is very shocking when Gendou takes control of Unit 01, and forces Shinji to murder his friend, although he lives. It parallels with sad events in my own life during which I have had no control and endured trauma. That being said, it is much nicer to watch the several kissing scenes in Jun Jou Romantica. The scene that I’ve watched the most over and over was the Japanese ending of Yu-Gi-Oh, replaying the scenes of the minor duelists, Dinosaur Ryuuzaki, Insector Haga, and the Robas. It was hard on me when that series ended, because I knew the minors that I were obsessed with would not be in cameo on any of the new series.
